I have a client that is a very fashionable, forward thinking, radiant young woman and she has impeccable taste. This blog post is for her! Right now, the hottest wedding colors are cobalt blue and sunny yellow! They pair so nicely together and are perfect colors for a sophisticated summer wedding. There are so many options with these colors. Flowers can be as simple as canary yellow roses and blue irises or something a little bolder like yellow calla lilies and and dark blue hydrangeas.
I also love the idea of blue bridesmaid dresses with the pop of yellow from flowers. Shoes and jewelry could also be used as colorful accessories. I think that dark blue table linens, and napkins with navy tiole china and yellow flower and fruit centerpieces would be divine! Something sophisticated like lemons in a tall hurricane vase with trailing yellow and blue flowers would be so lovely!
The gentleman would look so dapper in navy suits with yellow ties and boutonnieres, and maybe something a little unexpected, like navy and yellow striped socks! Invitations could incorporate yellow and navy toile or something more updated like retro flowers or polka dots. Finally, favors could be blue candies or chocolates in little yellow boxes wrapped with navy ribbon. The possibilities are really endless.
I made this inspiration board because these are the "it" colors for 2010 and I wanted to show that this new and fresh palette is very pleasing to the eye. It is extraordinarily cheerful and elegant at the same time. Cheers to the best color combination of 2010!
